Como se joga

How it plays

Três regras. O resto é a revista de sempre.

Three rules. The rest is the magazine you know.

01

A letter in every cell

No black squares: heavy bars separate the words. Tap a clue, type, and the cursor moves on by itself.

02

No accents, no cedilla

The magazine rule: AVÓ is written AVO, LEÇA is written LECA. Any accent you type folds onto the plain letter.

03

Check when you like

With automatic checking, a wrong letter gets the magazine's slash as you type it. Without it, only when you ask. Ten free hints for the hard days.

Cinco capítulos

Five chapters

Each one harder than the last — measured, not guessed.

Difficulty is grid size and clue level together. Within a chapter the grids climb in order, and between chapters there is a step you feel. The first three are free; the last two are bought once each, with the first grid of each open to try.

Para quem está a aprender

For learners

Palavra certa, grafia verdadeira.

Get the word, see how it is really spelt.

As soon as a word is right it shows the accent or cedilla the grid hides — TRES becomes TRÊS — and a tap opens it in the system dictionary. Every clue can be read aloud in a Portuguese voice.

The app speaks your language — English, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, German or Italian — and the game speaks Portuguese. If you live in Portugal and are learning, that is the point.

Pistas de cá

Clues from Portugal

Over three thousand words and fourteen thousand clues, all written by hand.

Towns, rivers, writers, singers, dishes, feasts and sayings: Portugal in short words and long ones. Never the same clue for the same word in two grids. And never a Brazilian form.

On an iPhone the grid and keyboard share the screen and the clue list opens over them; turned sideways, they sit side by side.
